Check-A-Ticket Terminals

Check-A-Ticket terminals (CATs) are small scanners which are connected to our central game system and allow you to determine whether your ticket is a winner without having to hand your ticket to the Lottery Retailer.

As part of the Player First program, BCLC installed CATs in all lottery retail locations where a lottery terminal is located, making BCLC one of the only jurisdictions in the world to offer this technology wherever its lottery products are sold.

In addition to CATs, players can access winning numbers online at bclc.com, on the telephone at 1-866-815-0222, in local newspapers, BCLC's Luck Magazine or by asking their retailer for a print-out of draw results.

The CATs display for players how much they have won, further eliminating the potential for confusion during the validation process.

Currently, CATs can check tickets such as Lotto 6/49, BC/49, Lotto Super 7 and Extra. Moving forward, BCLC is actively researching technology that will allow Scratch & Win tickets to be checked on CATs.
