Arthur H. Willms joined Westcoast Energy in 1971 as a Supervisor of the Rates Department. Mr. Willms ascended the Company ranks and in 1991 was named President and Chief Operating Officer of Westcoast Energy. He retained this title until his retirement in 1999. Prior to joining Westcoast Energy, Mr. Willms was a public school teacher in Alberta and a lecturer in Economics at the University of Calgary.

Mr. Willms has a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Economics, all from the University of Calgary.

Mr. Willms holds numerous other directorships including Westcoast Energy Inc., Pacific Northern Gas Ltd., Union Gas Limited, the Vancouver Symphony Society, Columbia Power Corporation, Angiotech Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Accenture Business Services Advisory Board.
