• October 17, 2011 - Unclaimed winning 6/49 ticket to receive $100k/year for life
  A lucky winner has not yet come forward to claim the $100,000 for life prize from the October 12 Lotto 6/49 bonus draw.
• August 9, 2011 - Three lottery winners in B.C. yet to claim millions in prizes
  Lotto 6/49 draw was a great night for B.C. lottery players, with all three major prizes won in the province. Players are encouraged to check their tickets as none of the nearly $8 million in total prize winnings has been claimed.
• May 18, 2011 - BCLC Moves Ahead with Advertising and Marketing Services
  Following three competitive bid processes, BCLC has begun negotiations with the following organizations for advertising and marketing services, which are expected to take a few months.
• May 6, 2011 - Host Local Government Payments Corrected
  B.C. communities that host a casino or community gaming centre receive a share of the net gaming income generated from casino games. Due to a miscalculation by BCLC, 14 municipalities across B.C. that are eligible for Host Local Government payments received under or overpayments for the last quarter of 2010/11. • November 25, 2010 - BCLC offers free BetStopper software
  BCLC is offering parents in B.C. free content blocking software to help prevent children and youth from accessing online gambling websites.
• November 12, 2010 - BCLC Lower Mainland Office and Prize Claim Centre Moves to Vancouver
  BCLC will be relocating its Lower Mainland corporate office and prize claim centre to the Broadway Tech Centre at 2940 Virtual Way in Vancouver, providing players and the public with easy access to transit. BCLC will occupy the new location at East Broadway and Renfrew on December 6, 2010.
• August 19, 2010 - PlayNow.com Regulatory Approvals Complete
  Today BCLC will re-launch its online gaming website – PlayNow.com – after receiving certification and approval from the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB) and the Office of Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC).
• July 27, 2010 - BCLC Assessment of PlayNow.com Complete
  BCLC completed its assessment today on the issue requiring the shutdown of PlayNow.com on July 15th.

  High player volumes to the PlayNow.com website on July 15th exceeded server capacity creating traffic and load issues.

  BCLC has lowered the threshold for a lottery terminal "freeze" to $3,000 from the previous $10,000.
• April 26, 2010 - Knockout 21 Removed from Bars/Pubs
  Beginning today at 11:00am, Pacific Hold'em Poker (PHEP) will return to its original format of six draws per hour from 11:00am to 2:00am (90 draws per day).
• March 22, 2010 - Lotto 6/49 jackpot 'display error'
  BCLC regrets to inform players that a printing error occurred briefly on Sunday displaying an incorrect jackpot amount on Lotto 6/49 tickets purchased for Wednesday's draw.
• March 19, 2010 - Saturday's Lotto 6/49 jackpot estimated at $41 million
  Lottery retailers across Canada are bracing themselves for what will likely be a rush of Lotto 6/49 ticket sales over the next 24 hours.
• January 4, 2010 - New Scratch & Win / Check-A-Ticket Functionality

  On May 29, 2007 the B.C. Ombudsman issued a report on BCLC's lottery business with 23 recommendations for improvements to our player protection and validation procedures. Government and BCLC accepted all of the Ombudsman's recommendations and developed 'Player First,' a comprehensive response to implementing all 23 recommendations - and in many cases going even further - to put the player first.
• Wednesday, May 28, 2008 - Money Laundering and Suspicious Currency Transaction Reporting at B.C. Casinos
  Today, a letter to John Van Dongen, Acting Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, from John McLernon, BCLC Board Chair, was tabled in the B.C. Legislature. The letter summarizes the actions being taken by British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and overseen by the Board in relation to money laundering and suspicious currency transactions reported at BCLC's gaming facilities.
