Eager Edgar now 'Set For Life'
Richmond, B.C., July 14, 2009 – A 46-year-old Courtenay woman is now "Set For Life" after winning the top prize on BCLC's Set For Life instant Scratch & Win ticket.
"I'm all smiles today," beamed Phylis Edgar, who matched three winning symbols on her Set For Life ticket to earn the top prize of $1000 each week for 25 years.
"I was so excited to claim my prize that I couldn't sleep. So, at midnight, I decided to just get in my car, drive to the ferry terminal, and wait for the next ferry."
The next ferry arrived at 5:00 a.m., allowing the eager Edgar to arrive at BCLC's Richmond office bright and early!
"I just couldn't wait another minute," said the family services worker. "My two daughters have got their new cars picked out already!"
After shopping for some new wheels, Phylis, who has opted to take the lump sum payment of $675,000.00, plans to pay off her bills and take a vacation.
Congratulations to the Edgars!
Phylis purchased her lucky Set For Life ticket at The Inkwell on Port Augusta Street in Comox.
