Winners for BC's Set for Life

Penticton Man is 'Set For Life'

Penticton Man is 'Set For Life' Kamloops, January 26, 2007 – Lennard Deglow of Penticton has never made a big deal about his birthday, but after this year he will probably consider it more of a special occasion. Lennard became BC's latest Set for Life top prize winner when his sister's birthday gift won him $675,000 on the scratch & win game.

"It was my birthday and I didn't think much about it. My sister told me to stop by for dinner. I opened my card and inside there were six scratch tickets; four of them were Set for Life tickets." said Lennard. "I scratched and saw the three identical Cash 25 Years symbols and yelled to my sister, Sheryl, 'Do you need three or four to win?' She replied, "'Just three.'"

"I said, 'I got three.' She said, 'No, you didn't.' I said, 'Yes, I did!' This went back and forth a couple more times. Then we went wild!'" Lennard had won the top prize on the $4 Set for Life Scratch & Win ticket.

Lennard chose to take the lump sum payment of $675,000 over an annuity option that maintains payments of $1,000 a week for 25 years. The outdoor enthusiast plans to buy himself a new truck, pay off some bills and help his family out.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart #203 in Penticton.

There are still many Set for Life prizes remaining to be won in BC, including another top prize of $1,000 a week for 25 years.
