Deja vu, as second Lower Mainland realtor wins 6/49 jackpot
Richmond, BC, July 31, 2008 – As Yankee legend Yogi Bera famously said, "It's like déjà vu all over again."
Another Lower Mainland realtor has won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot.
Port Moody resident Angela Mead, who works for Coldwell Banker in Burnaby, became an instant winner when her lucky numbers were drawn online at bclc's PlayNow.com.
"I was so stunned when I read 'Congratulations, you have won!' that I had to take a picture of my computer screen," said Mead, who is now $25,649 richer.
"I then broke into a 6/49 happy dance," laughed the 54-year-old mother of two. "It wasn't pretty, but I did it!"
Mead joins 24-year-old Peter Dushop as the second Lower Mainland realtor this week to collect a Lotto 6/49 prize.
Dushop, who works for Re/Max in Maple Ridge, famously waited almost a year to collect his $3.6 million prize.
Like Dushop, Mead plans to use some of her winnings to take a vacation.
Lotto 6/49 is the nationwide lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 6 p.m. (PST). This Wednesday's jackpot is an estimated $24 million. Players can purchase tickets at any lottery retailer or at bclc's PlayNow.com.
