Consumer Advisory: BC Lottery Internet Number Checker
The BC Lottery Corporation wishes to notify Lottery players who use BCLC's Internet Number Checker to check lottery results that a technical issue has occurred. On February 8, a software upgrade inadvertently prevented draw results from being presented correctly by secondary BCLC web addresses. The problem was identified and resolved on March 30, 2007.
This issue DOES NOT affect results checked:
- directly at www.bclc.com, or on Play Now at www.bclc.com,
- using Check-a-Ticket terminals found in many retail outlets,
- using self-serve terminals available at select bars and pubs, or
- validations conducted by retailers using in-store lottery terminals.
Those who checked tickets on sites other than www.bclc.com were informed that the Internet Number Checker had not detected a match to the official winning numbers. BCLC is concerned that some of these players may have, in fact, held a winning ticket.
BCLC has identified 2,787 separate IP addresses that made requests for draw results during the period from February 8 to March 30, 2007 using the Internet Number Checker from web addresses other than bclc.com.
BCLC has retained this list of the IP addresses specifically impacted.
If you attempted to check your numbers using the Internet Number Checker from a web address other than www.bclc.com, please contact our Consumer Services hotline at 1-866-815-0222.
